Our resident elk are part of the impressive San Juan Basin Herd of over 20,000, with approximately 1,500 animals making our ranches their seasonal home. They follow a predictable pattern: calving in our lush meadows during June, spending summer in the cooler high country, then descending to mid and lower elevations during the fall rut—putting them right where you need them during hunting season.

During archery season, you'll encounter numerous rutting bulls in their prime. As rifle season begins with the first light snow on the peaks, you'll witness the impressive migration as these magnificent animals move through our property toward their southern wintering grounds.
